DRFN has developed cross-cultural training programs to suit a wide range of audiences. We have programs prepared to deliver anything from one hour, virtual lunch and learn sessions to multi-day, immersive sessions in our territory (through Kema Experiences).

We have been delivering training workshops to audiences for many years and the reception and feedback we receive has been very enthusiastic and positive.

DRFN can deliver sessions via video-conference that include real-time drumming, language lessons in song and PowerPoint presentations featuring comprehensive information complemented by our community members’ artwork and beautiful images demonstrating our past, present and future.

We can also arrange in-person opportunities that will allow us to expand our multi-sensory engagement to include smudging, touching artifacts and crafts, tasting tea and bannock and trying drumming or beading. Additionally, we are prepared to offer on-site workshops such as:

  • Build your own moccasins
  • Paint night and story telling
  • Music workshop
  • Plant gathering workshop
  • Tea making workshop

For a very immersive experience, custom training packages can be arranged through our Kema Experiences (a DRFN owned-enterprise). Through a Kema Experience, participants can conduct shelter making, learn to shoot with a bow and arrow, collect local plants to make tea and enjoy campfires, traditional food and music.
