The purpose of the Housing Committee is to support department staff in implementing and enforcing housing policies and procedures by assisting with:

  • the evaluation and selection of candidates for new housing
  • at the request of the Housing and Public Works Administrator, the evaluation and selection of candidates for housing renovations, and
  • the housing complaint appeals process

The Housing Committee is in place to ensure that housing decisions are made in a fair and objective manner without political influence.  It is a consensus-based advisory body that holds no independent authority other than what it is delegated to it from Chief and Council.

The Housing Committee is comprised of six members that include:

  • Housing and Public Works Administrator, Jennifer Davis
  • Band Manager, Shona Nelson
  • Elder Margaret Davis
  • Financial Controller, Sydney Gustafson
  • Housing and Operations Maintenance Supervisor, Kevin Geist
  • Health and Social Development Manager, Terre Walton
  • Councillor, Brittany Brinkworth
