I’m originally from South Africa and have spent much of my life experiencing different cultures and work environments. After moving to Australia, I spent 16 years gaining skills in various fields. My wife, who is from Canada, joined me for the last eight years there, and we had our three children.
In 2012, we moved to Canada to be closer to family. I started working on tugboats along the Fraser River and in Prince Rupert, which gave me a unique view of the maritime industry. In 2015, I moved to Fort St. John to work with WorkSafeBC, focusing on safety and regulations.
I then worked at Canfor as the regional Safety Specialist for northern mills in British Columbia and Alberta, where I improved my skills in safety management. Now, I’m proud to be part of Doigs team, aiming to help build a strong and safe community.
My career is enriched by diverse experiences, including construction – residential and commercial, caregiving for adults and children with disabilities, fruit picking, house painting, and photojournalism in both Africa and Australia.
Outside of work, I love adventure bike touring, exploring new places on my KTM 890. I also enjoy cooking, smoking meats, caring for indoor plants, and photography.
I’m dedicated to using my varied background and skills to make a positive impact in my current role and support Doigs future goals.
